A leisure time artephiletic program for primary school children
VESELÁ, Petra
The bachelor's thesis deals with the origin and course of the leisure time artefiletic program for school age children. Specifically, the main participants are siblings, brother and sister, who are from a divorced family. The research is the sort of action research, whose final output should lead to the overall enrichment of all participants. The program consisted of fourteen individual meetings, which have been running during the seven months. At each meeting the children artistically worked on the assigned topics, at the end of the meeting there was a reflective discussion over the results of creation. Throughout the duration of the program, the artistic progress in the art works of the siblings was monitored and subsequently described, as well as the progress in terms of changes in their experience and behaviour. The thesis contains a detailed description of individual meeting including the statement of hypotheses that the author reached during the activities with children. The work also includes the author´s self reflection and the reflection of creation and work with both children. In the end, some recommendations were proposed for further possible work with these children.

Sibling constellations influence
MOCKOVÁ, Jana
This bachelor's thesis in the theoretical part presents theories describing the influence of sibling constellations and the views of some psychologists on the field of sibling relationships. The practical part maps the parents' view of the nature and behavior of their children with regard to the issue of sibling constellations and mutual relationships, experience with preparing a child for the birth of a younger sibling and with the support of sibling relationships. It also presents the experiences and opinions of kindergarten teachers on the influence of the sibling position on the behavior and experience of children and the change in child behavior in connection with the birth of a younger sibling. The research showed that the view and experience of parents and kindergarten teachers largely coincide and also correspond to the theories of A. Adler and K. Leman, with the exception of the only ones, where the parents 'view differs to some extent from the teachers' point of view. It was also found that most of the children of the interviewed parents faced certain problems after the birth of a younger sibling, which was confirmed by the experience of psychologists mentioned in the first part of the work. The research also showed that the sibling relationships between the children of the interviewed parents are mostly good and that the parents try to support these relationships in relatively similar ways.
Sibling relationships from an adult perspective
Krulišová, Julie ; Sotáková, Hana (advisor) ; Špačková, Klára (referee)
In my diploma thesis I summarized the background and findings on family and siblings, the specifics of the sibling relationship and the factors that affect it - especially sibling positions, age difference, number of siblings and gender, that all based on specialized literature. Another topic that my diploma focused on was sibling dynamics - especially rivalry and jealousy and the development of a sibling relationship throughout human's life. The empirical part of the thesis was dedicated on quantitative research in which respondents answered questions about their personal sibling relationships. The chosen form of research was a questionnaire, that was divided into two parts concerning ‚the childhood' and ‚the present'. The aim was to see the adult's point of view and their subjective evaluation of their sibling relationships in childhood and in adulthood. The results of my research have claimed that the satisfaction with the relationship in childhood affects the satisfaction in adulthood, moreover respondents had been more satisfied with the sibling relationship they have in their adult life than in childhood (except for the position of middle siblings, who were more feeling satisfied in childhood). In the overall evaluation approximately 80% of the respondents have evaluated their sibling...
Relationship between posttraumatic growth and coping processes of healthy siblings of children with disabilities
Soukupová, Marie ; Presslerová, Pavla (advisor) ; Kucharská, Anna (referee)
This thesis is focused on the current concept of coping with stressful situations and the concept of posttraumatic growth of healthy siblings of disabled children. The first part of this thesis deals with stressful situations throughout the life of healthy sibling. The work describes the ways of coping with difficult life situations as well as coping strategies oriented to the future (proactive coping). It also focuses on the positive effects of this experience within the concept of posttraumatic growth. The empirical part presents the data obtained from nine respondents. There were used these methods: interview, narrative inspired by life-story, questionnaire PTGI-CZ and PCI questionnaire. The data were elaborated by means of qualitative and quantitative methods. The aim of the thesis was to identify the coping strategies used by siblings and identify potential posttraumatic growth. The most considerable development was reflected in the areas of "appreciation of life" and "personal growth". The most helpful coping strategies were considered to be positive thinking and positive reappraisal of a situation. We believe that these research findings might be helpful in counselling for siblings or in the area of psychotherapy.

Siblings in pre-school age

The results of the diploma thesis showed an interesting picture of the development of the sibling relationships with people with ASD, which are strongly affected by the nature of the disorder. The research confirmed a severe amount of stress in intact siblings of people with ASD, which stems from many different areas of their living together. It also turned out that living with...
